The wood duck is found throughout most of Australia. These ducks feed mostly through grazing in flocks and looking like a small goose stand approximately 45 to 51cm tall.  They are found in grasslands, open woodlands, wetlands, flooded pastures and along the coast in inlets and bays – and are not currently considered a threatened species.
