These beautiful red parrots native to eastern and south eastern Australia, enjoy spending their days in coastal mountainous forest environments. They are sedentary birds and do not migrate. Throughout breeding season they spend their time foraging with their mate and are considered monogamous. They feed on insects, fruit and seeds are have to be careful around cats, dogs and foxes so as to not to be eaten for dinner.
